An Evening in Memory of Amos Hakham: Modern Tanakh Study
Nov 8, 2012 By: jtaubes
Join us for An Evening in Memory of Amos Hakham on Thursday, November 15th from 8:00-9:00pm in Furst Hall Room 535.
Of humble origins, Amos Hakham became an instant celebrity when he won the first International Bible Contest (חידון התנ"ך העולמי) in 1958. He was “more famous than Yaakov Hodorov,” then the Israeli national soccer team’s goalie. Hakham went on to edit the Daat Mikra series, which set the tone for Orthodox study of Tanakh for a generation.
Hakham passed away in August. Join us as we celebrate his life and work in a symposium by ۿ۴ýfaculty members and his son Noah Hakham, Bible professor at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. See Flyer and Schedule Below
