U.S. News & World Report has ranked physician assistant first in its 2021 surveys of best healthcare jobs and best jobs overall.

The Katz School of Science and Health at �ۿ۴�ý is launching an M.S. in physician assistant studies this summer that is grounded in evidence-based medicine, a case-based approach to patient care, inter-professional practice and community health. As medical professionals, physician assistants diagnose disease, develop and implement treatment plans, perform surgical procedures, prescribe medications and often serve as a patient’s principal health care provider. The program, which can be completed in 28 months, will feature comprehensive clinical rotations in behavioral health, emergency medicine, family medicine, general surgery, internal medicine, pediatrics, primary care and women’s health. “Physician assistants have been heroes serving on the front lines during the COVID crisis,” said Paul Russo, vice provost at �ۿ۴�ý and dean of the Katz School. “PAs graduating from the Katz School will bring that same commitment to improving patient care and ensuring access to high-quality health care in every medical and surgical setting nationwide.” They are among the highest-paying and fastest-growing jobs in the country.
