An article written by faculty and students at ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½â€™s has been awarded a 2012 silver medal by , a high-impact medical journal.
The , whose research was coordinated by Ferkauf faculty member Dr. Jonathan M. Feldman, associate professor of psychology, and included students Haley Kutner, Lynn Matte, Michelle Lupkin, and Dara Steinberg, was originally published in Thorax in December 2012. It demonstrated that detection of asthma among ethnic minority, inner city children was poor, but could be improved by appropriate feedback, which at least in the short term improved adherence to therapy. The article won the silver medal in recognition of the difficulty of conducting research in a challenging environment.
