Dr. Irit Felsen, adjunct associate professor at ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½'s Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, recently led a t for children and grandchildren of Holocaust survivors at the Boro Park Y. Called "Surviving and Thriving," the event was hosted by Project Witness.
Felson also delivered two lectures at a conference about aging hosted by , an organization that seeks to expand the world of possibilities for the elderly and aging, titled "PTSD and Post Traumatic Reactions in the Elderly" and "Dehumanization in Medicine: The Relevance of Social and Neurosocial Findings to the Treatment of the Elderly."
On May 5, Felson led a titled "Historical trauma in the life of the family: Intergenerational transmission of trauma, its impact on relationships among adult siblings, and the effects of earlier trauma in elderly survivors" at the Northeast Counties Association of Psychologists's Spring Program.
